Stomach Aches

April 7, 2019

They always say that pain is what makes us feel alive but what kind of lives are lived in constant pain?

A pain, a pain that doesn’t let us thrive

That doesn’t let us live our lives

That deprives

Us from feeling human

And I am strong,

I will live long,

But is it wrong,

To fear how long

This will go on?

This punishment goes undeserved,

But it is served,

So we will make our voices heard

We will scream it from the rooftops, from the forests, from the seas

THIS IS REAL

T H I S  I S  H O N E S T

I T   I  S N 'T  J U S T   M  E!

And to all who’ll listen,

To all who’ll learn,

we say thank you

Thank you for not having thrown

All our bones

To the wind

And for not making us

Walk alone.

Thank you for putting up

With all the stares,

All the glares,

All the unfair

People in the world.

It takes an average of seven years

To diagnose

One in ten knows

But how many of those

Are in the throes

Of not getting help?

“It’s all in your head”

“Just get out of bed”

“Just pop another med”

But my body is being shred

From the inside

From itself

But I’m supposed to be too young

To even be in such poor health.
